Dear Parents, To celebrate our 43rd National Day in the UAE we will be hosting a whole range of learning opportunities on Monday 1st December 2014 at GEMS Jumeirah Primary School. We would like all children to participate in this very special day for their host country. All children at GEMS Jumeirah Primary School are invited to wear local traditional dress and to bring in locally enjoyed food in place of their regular snacks. There are a few ideas of foods previously enjoyed on National Days at the bottom of this letter. Try planning the snack box with your child and developing the excitement of trying something new. At the front of school we have raised our flags and the children are learning about the meaning of the various flags of the UAE. At 10.30am all children will take part in singing the UAE National Anthem; this forms part of the GEMS wide initiative communicated yesterday by letter. The music will be uploaded onto the Weebly Blogs this week for you to practise at home in preparation. All year groups will have more information about their specific learning sessions in their Weebly Blogs. Many thanks for your support in what will be a special day for the children and a rich learning opportunity for all members of the school community. Dear Parents
As we now have the cooler weather in Dubai, our boys uniform now requires a tie to be worn each day. Please can you ensure that all boys return after half-term wearing an named JPS tie. We have noticed some children wearing non-uniform shoes to school in the last few weeks and we would request that over the break appropriate black shoes are purchased and worn each day. If you require any further information on uniform please do not hesitate to enquire at [email protected] or collect the full list from the Registrars’ Office in school.
