In the last 2 weeks, Mrs Hala, Mrs Ikhlas and Mrs Nadia have taught their students to create and sell an innovative and healthy drink in a market situation. The classroom turned into an imaginary market, and the students turned into sellers and customers. The customers had to pretend to be fussy, therefore our sellers had to show convincing skills in Arabic and they did impressively well ! You can see a snap shot of it below. Enjoy !
‘George’s Marvellous Medicine’ at the Madinat was excellent! JPS were the best behaved children in the theatre and you should be very proud of them. The special effects were amazing and we have been speculating how they were done. When Grandma grew and shrank we thought it was magical and the animals running around were great!

Dear Year 1 and year 2 parents, did you know that there is now a page dedicated to French songs and stories for you children to listen and sing along to ?
This page is hyperlinked to the Year 1 and year 2 home learning pages, on the right hand side of the page, all you need to do is click on the following picture : . The songs and stories are for your children to enjoy listening and singing along to whenever they have some free time at home ! These videos will be updated regularly to match the topics your children are learning in class with their class teachers. Enjoy ! Thank you for coming to watch our Year 2 Music Celebration. The children have been working extremely hard to learn their songs, words and playing their instruments, and I'm sure you'll agree that it was fantastic. We teachers felt extremely proud of our children and were amazed at their confidence and poise on stage in front of such a large audience.
If you weren't able to come to watch, don't worry, the link to watch the video is now available here on the weebly: http://jpsyear2.weebly.com/. Enjoy! As you are probably already aware, the tasks set on languagenut have been a source of frustration and confusion for all parties involved ( students, parents, teachers) in the last few weeks.
Therefore we have decided to cancel the “ optional home learning” on languagenut. Instead we have created a bank of resources ( mainly songs ) that are linked to the topics. These resources will be updated regularly and are for children to use at home to reinforce what they see in class on languagenut. You can find all these resources on the French weebly page, under the tab “ Year 1 and Year 2 French “ (http://jpsfrenchblogs.weebly.com/year-1-and-year-2-french ). Thanks, the French Department. A fabulous Sports Day today; perfect weather and excellent organization from our PE team. I'm sure you will agree, everyone had a great time and the falcons were very gracious winners, well done!
